USPS Rates Effective November 9th

USPS is announcing a new service, Ground Advantage which will combine First-Class Mail and Parcel Select Ground ship methods. Teapplix customers will enjoy discounted rates for certain packages when using this shipping method. There will be minimal impact to current Teapplix customers as First-Class Mail and Parcel Select Ground ship methods used in the setup of Remember Weight, Automatic Filter, Rate Shop, and API Program will be automatically converted.

Nonstandard Package Fees for Ground Advantage

Ground Advantage ship methods will be subjected to nonstandard fees. The nonstandard fees for USPS Ground Advantage are:

$4 fee for packages greater than 22" up to 30" in length
$7 fee for packages greater than 30" in length
$15 fee for packages greater than 2 cubic feet in volume

Nonstandard Package Fees for Priority Mail

The USPS fees for nonstandard packages shipped via Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express are unchanged.

The nonstandard fees for USPS Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail are:

$4 fee for packages greater than 22" up to 30" in length
$15 fee for packages greater than 30" in length
$25 fee for packages greater than 2 cubic feet in volume

Shippers should be aware that fees are additive and multiple fees can be applied to a package.

We have released enhancements to our user interface to allow tagging orders. An order can have one or more tags assigned to it (with colors too). You can search for orders with specific tags.

Historically we have used queues to organize orders. However, some customers are more used to tags, so now both features are available. The important difference is that an order belongs to one single queue, but can have 0 or 1 or multiple Tags.

There is also a special page under Orders --> All Unshipped. This page list all unshipped orders, from any queue. are displayed. If your work flow is tags oriented, this maybe a starting page to assign tags and move orders around, before they are printed. Notice that currently you cannot perform batch print from this page. Also, this page has a separate display settings that are distinct from the rest of Open orders pages.

New Way to Link UPS Account

We have updated our way to link an UPS account, as per latest UPS recommendations. Instead of entering your billing address and invoice information, you will only be asked your UPS shipper number and then re-directed to ups to login to UPS. After login your UPS account will be linked to Teapplix.

When you link make sure you login to Teapplix using www.teapplix.com domain name.

Currently, there is an open issue, that UPS accounts linked this way, cancel shipping label do not work. We are working with UPS to resolve this issue.

Support for Amazon Shipping

Amazon is re-launching it's logistics product called "Amazon Shipping Ground" for on-Amazon orders and "Amazon Shipping Standard" for off-Amazon orders.

Teapplix has just launched support for printing Amazon Shipping Ground labels for Amazon orders. You need to go to integrations -> marketplace and carts, expand the shipping method list and enable Amazon Shipping Ground. After that you can get rate quote and print label for Amazon orders.

You must use our New UI or our REST API for label printing. Old UI is no longer enhanced or tested for new functionality.

Teapplix plans to add support in Q4 2023 or Q1 2024 for Amazon Shipping for non-Amazon orders. We will make an announcement separately.

Fix QuickBooks Revoked Certificate Error

If you run into QuickBooks WebConnector error that the Teapplix application has a revoked certificate, Intuit has posted a fix on their site:

This seems to involve downloading a program file and directly replacing your existing file with the newly downloaded file. They posted version for 2021, 2022 and 2023 version of QuickBooks, we do not know if the 2021 version will work for older version of QuickBooks. It does not hurt to try it and you should contact Intuit support if the version does not work for you.

USPS Rates Effective May 1st

Teapplix is pleased to offer discounted USPS rates to customers. USPS rates for certain zones and weights of Parcel Ground Select and Priority Mail will decrease on May 1st. Teapplix customers will enjoy greater savings on certain Parcel Ground Select and Priority Mail services.

Shippers can expect to see lower prices for Parcel Select Ground, Parcel Select Cubic, Priority Mail, and Priority Mail Cubic.

First Class Package, Priority Mail Commercial, Priority Mail Express, and Priority Mail Flat Rate will not have any rate changes at this time.

Nonstandard Package Fees for Expedited and Ground

The USPS fees for nonstandard packages will still apply.

The nonstandard fees for USPS Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail are:

$4 fee for packages greater than 22" up to 30" in length
$15 fee for packages greater than 30" in length
$25 fee for packages greater than 2 cubic feet in volume

The nonstandard fees for USPS Parcel Select Ground, and First Class Package Service Retail are:

$4 fee for packages greater than 22" up to 30" in length
$7 fee for packages greater than 30" in length
$15 fee for packages greater than 2 cubic feet in volume

Shippers should be aware that fees are additive and multiple fees can be applied to a package. Please note if you exceed the dimensions for First Class Package Service, you will be charged the retail rate. The retail rate for First Class Package Service can be found here.

Label Printer Workflow Options Available in ActionShip

ActionShip by Teapplix offers multiple label printer options for your business needs. These options are designed with convenience in mind.

All of the printer options can be accessed by clicking on the “Settings” button which is located on the lefthand menu bar. In settings, select "Printers and Scales".

ActionShip supports:

One PDF Per Batch
One PDF Per Order Zipped
Print to Cloud Printer Directly
Scan and Print

One PDF Per Batch

This option will bulk-generate multiple orders merged into a single PDF file. After this file is generated, you are returned to your browser. You can then print this PDF or forward the document to your shipping person.

One PDF Per Order Zipped

This label will generate a zip file containing individual PDFs, one per order. Typically, a customer using this option will use a local machine to process the zip file. Each label has the filename: txnid.pdf.

Print to Cloud Printer Directly

ActionShip integrates with PrintNode to offer easy, remote printing. Teapplix also offers a free PrintNode account if you don’t have one. This option will not return the file to your browser, instead, the networked printer will print out each label directly.

Scan and Print

This option is designed for high-value items or items that are often packed incorrectly. With this option, when you select the Ship button, the labels are generated but nothing comes out. You must scan the SKU or UPC barcode (or Amazon FSKU barcode) and then the label that corresponds to that item will come out. For multiple item orders, Teapplix will prompt you to scan all items and then after that, you must scan the barcode on the packing list to print the label.

You can set up different label printing options for each profile giving you even more control over how to print under different locations, workers, or order queues.

Etsy Order Download Change

Etsy is switching API version from v2 to v3 April 1st, 2023. Teapplix will make a switch this Saturday.

You don't have to do anything with your Etsy integration. Teapplix will automatically migrate your v2 API token to v3.

However, the old Etsy 'order id' field is removed in the new API. Instead, new orders will be downloaded using the 'reciept id' field in Etsy.

New Requirements for Shipments to the EU

Effective March 1, 2023, all shipments to the European Union (EU) must use the Harmonized System (HS) Tariff Code on all customs forms and any electronic shipping data. To comply with this mandate, all shipments must have an accurate description and at least 6 digits of HS Tariff Code.

All outbound international packages must follow this new requirement. This includes gifts, eCommerce orders, personal, military, or business mail. Every item in a package must be listed with a specific description on the customs declaration form. A specific description may not be a general category such as clothes, appliance, electronic, etc. The specific description must be the actual item, such as men's shirt, microwave, laptop, etc.

To find the correct HS Tariff Code for your shipment, please visit the US International Trade Administration. Remember that to comply with this mandate, you must supply 6 digits of HS Tariff Code and the specific description of the shipment.

Setting Up the Harmonized System Tariff Code in Teapplix

To set up the HS Tariff Code in Teapplix, you may upload a CSV file to bulk update all products or manually edit each product and enter the HS Tariff Code.

When importing a CSV file to bulk update all products, please ensure the CSV file contains two columns: Teapplix SKU, Harmonized Tariff Code.

To Manually edit each product, go to Inventory-->Products page. Select edit on the product you wish to update and enter the proper HS Tariff Code for that product.

Once you have set up the HS Tariff Code for every product, Teapplix will use it for the international shipping labels to the EU.
